This fine pair cased silver verge watch numbered 585 was made around 1720 by the great Daniel Delander, the interesting feature of this superb movement is the massive Diamond that is drilled and actually used as the balance bearing, most diamonds on the cocks are just for show. The watch is not hallmarked which is normal for this period, it is however marked indistinctly I think EB. The movement is stunning , fantastic pillers, and the finish of the whole movement shouts quality. The hands are genuine early 18th cent. steel beetle and poker hands. The dial is a later modernisation. The watch even after around 290 years still works well.
