This early watch is silver pair cased verge watch, made by Samuel Bayley of London, numbered 588, listed as working from 1758 . The movement has square pillars and Tompion Regulator, with a fine pierced cock which is very unusual in being made of silver. The watch inner case  has a London mark for 1766 the outer case for 1779. The cases are a perfect fit and must have been made for each other. The dial is almost perfect just a few very light scuffs.
Diameter of watch 50 mms.
