This fine gilt cased verge watch made around 1730 by the great Edward Faulkner London, after 1692 member of the Clockmakers company from 1702 and Master of the Clockmakers company from 1734-44. He was a great re-knowned maker a watch of his is illustrated in Cesinzky and Webster's book.
Movement numbered 296.
The hands are fine original steel beetle and poker design. The signed dial the original champeleve is of gilt or gold. The watch even after over 270 years still works well. .
