Early 19th cent. 8 day brass faced mahogany moondial long case made by James Coleman Bridges of Okehampton Devon. He is listed making around 1795, which is around the date of the clock. The case is a typical West country mahogany case, of very good quality. The base would have had bracket feet originally but now has attractive mahogany mouldings. The arch, shows the moon phase and age of moon. The dial and movement are exceptional quality the flat brass dial with seconds chapter ring and date aperture . The engraving on the dial is exceptional quality. The dial measures 13 inches by 18 1/4 inches.
The case is 6 feet 10 1/2 inches high plus the finial.
