This early Quare watch movement numbered 4005 was made around 1700. Daniel Quare was the  inventor of the two handed watch and repeating watches, and introduced  jewelling to British watch making. The watch is set in a purpose made Victorian ebonised walnut and brass mounted case. The movement can be accessed from the front by pulling of the bezel which is not hinged but is a good push fit, and from the rear to wind the movement. The watch movement even after  over 300 years still works well.
