This is a fine Georgian oak cased 8 day moondial Long case clock, with High water indicator. Made by David Rowland of Aberystwyth around 1800. He worked out of  Pier Street.
The elegent oak case has very fine typical Georgian proportions, with long shaped door and applied base panel. The hood is inlaid with mahogany and satinwood.
The 12 inch archdial is a fine example of the best kind of Wilson dial, typical of this period. The unusal feature is the High water for Aberyswyth indication in the arch above the Age of the Moon numbers. The movement retains its original steel hands.
The bracket feet are replacements.
