Oak inlaid 8 day long case clock, with Rocking Father time in the arch. Very unusual parquetry oak case in very good condition. The movement signed and made by Richard Scholfield of the well known Scholfield family of clockmakers around 1760. There is a motto engraved on the chapter ring "Dum Spectral Fugio"
which translates to "While you watch I fly"
12 inch arch dial, case 216 cms 7 foot 1 inches high.
